| Abstract: | Therefore, the thesis shall present narratives on the current situation and past history of Mongolia, a landlocked country which resides in between two great powers. Known to the world for its vast deposits of natural resources, an in-depth analysis of why the country has began to seek the aid of international organizations and countries will be provided through comparisons of its economy during its period of immense economic growth and its stagnation today. Respectively, commentary on the consequences of receiving a bailout package from the International Monetary Fund will be discussed within this paper; where both the negative and positive aspects to the plan will be covered. In order to provide such a commentary, the periods of rapid growth and collapse of Mongolia’s economy will be explained based upon hard evidence and the actions taken by the Mongolian government which led to its economic downfall. |
