The critical analysis of the trends of "Bergsommer" holiday type and its effect on the Austrian guesthouses

| Kivonat: | This thesis discusses the the trends of the „Bergsommer” holiday type and its effects on the Austrian guesthouses. The aim aim was to introduce the role of Bergsommer and show that it provides a wide range of opportunities for the Austrian guesthouses and tourism in general. My objectives through the paper will be the followings: to introduce and describe the new trend: Bergsommer; to itroduce the nature of tourist segments who are interested in Bergsommer and the seasonality of their traveling habits; to evaluate the share of guesthouses from the Bergsommer.; to evaluate the effects of Bergsommer trend on the micro and macro economy of Austria and the regions; and finally to introduce the possible services that could be effected by the Bergsommer trend and its fields of possible revenue generation. First of all the collected literature regarding the topic is introduced, to have a wider view of the definition in the Literature review as well as to review the methodological basics of the later used research methods. Then using secondary and primary researches (online questionnaire and a strategic marketing plan of a specific region) the objectives are investigated. |
