| Kivonat: | Turkey is among top 7 countries in regards to richness of resources, and its thermal resources have superior qualities in both physical and chemical properties, as well as the flow rates and temperature than Europe, although bearing the number of tourists visiting the country with this travel purpose remains relatively low compared to other countries. The same is true for Chesme, South Aegean region which has a favorable climate, high thermal resources, alternative and natural access opportunities, proximity to Izmir, but not enough share of tourism movements. The aim of this study is to determine the point of view of thermal tourism consumers in the scope of health tourism for thermal tourism, the reasons to prefer thermal tourism, and how consumers perceive the quality of service offered by thermal facilities. The hypotheses of study are following: Health tourism in Turkey has a broad proposition of services but varies from the modern trends in international health tourism. The Chesme region as a health tourism destination has a uniform image concept. The historical improvement of health tourism in the Turkey has unique development stages. |
