Kivonat:After the financial crisis in 2008, the tourism thrived in New Zealand, which brought challenges and changes to the industry. The huge growth had both positive and negative impacts on the economy, the socio-cultural environment and the on environment itself. To research these, on the first place I have used annual reports from the governmental agencies and organisations and also utilized the data related to tourism, economy, trade and population from the statistical office of the country. I have used articles related to New Zealand, and books and articles related to the subject of these impacts in general. It was discovered that the balance between positive and negative effects is sensitive but with good management and development planning, positive impacts can overweight the negative ones. The hypothesis was that the tourism industry in New Zealand is constantly evolving to fit the ever-changing conditions. This was found to be true as the several changes happened in the industry. The supply adapted to the demand, and the new challenges arose from the growing demand were tackled with new regulations and development plans.
