Abstract: | In today’s globalized world, there is an increasing need for intercultural understanding. The encounter of different nations and cultures creates a diverse platform, where the need for cultural acceptance becomes crucial. Student mobility programs, such as Erasmus, are considered to be an opportunity for deeper intercultural understanding. In the frame of mobility program participation, intercultural competences, linguistic skills, and personal characteristics improvements were observed. The research topic was chosen according to my observations and experiences during two semesters spent abroad in the frame of the Erasmus program. The research involved 5 former and 5 current international Erasmus students with the help of two focus-group interviews. The results indicate an intense contribution to cultural enrichment, intercultural, and linguistic skills improvement, as well as personal development. Furthermore, the outcomes show better employability of the surveyed students due to the improved competences, which is not only utilized at work, but in all aspects of life. |
