International Firms in Oil and Gas Industry From CEE Region

Kivonat: | Foreign direct investment (FDI) of emerging countries is usually more inward than outward, however during the last decades the emerging countries have been witnessed a growth in their outward FDIs and emerging multinationals started to show and increase globally and vastly. Hungary and Poland both are considered leaders from CEE in terms of Outward FDI which has been increasing since many decades ago particularly after 2000s. The largest oil companies in CEE region are MOL Group (from Hungary) and PKN Orlen (from Poland) Due to the importance of oil industry in the world, this paper is aimed to show the significance of the international firms in oil industry from Central and East Europe region and to show their activities regionally and internationally. Methodology will be based on two companies’ case studies (MOL Group from Hungary and PKN Orlen from Poland). The analysis will be first about the time when they have established and started their foreign investments, secondly the geographical locations where they have invested in, thirdly their FDI motivations, fourth their ownership advantages and finally accounting the differences between both firms in the questioned areas. By this analysis we can expect to have information and knowledge about the international firms in oil industry from CEE region. |
