Abstract:The thesis in this paper is discussing the advertisement-related circumstances of the popular online social media platform; YouTube. The claims proposed throughout the research are based on data gained from a questionnaire that targeted generation z. The paper also provides an insight into YouTube’s subscription-based account system and how they guide their commercial policies. The information in this thesis allows the readers to look ‘behind’ the curtain and see what their clicks translate to on YouTube and on the wider online media market.
