520 3 |a The destination image of South Korea varies greatly in people’s minds. As K-pop, especially BTS became more and more famous worldwide the number of foreign tourists travelling to South Korea started to increase in the past few years. This study aims to determine whether K-pop has the ability to change the opinion of people about the image of South Korea. Specifically, it investigates how one group can contribute to Korea’s economy and tourism sector and who are affected by the phenomena the most. To answer the research questions an analysis of K-pop thematic routes and an online survey were conducted. The results suggested that those respondents who took part on a thematic tour had a more entertaining trip and that K-pop changed respondents’ way of thinking about South Korea in a positive direction.
