Researchers have also supported that it is necessary to know the local community’s perception and attitude during tourism planning (Wilkinson, 1976), which can allow the plan to go on without problems and that will maximize the benefits of tourism at the destination. 1.1 Aim The overall aim of this study is to identify the impact of tourism on the local community at Petra. and finally to put suggestions for sustainable tourism and to increase the awareness of the local community tourists and government of the social and cultural impacts of tourism on the locals . 1.2. Research Questions Question 1: How are the local community affected by the increasing number of tourists? Question 2: If they feel they have been negatively affected, what strategies to improve the interactions between the local community and tourists at Petra? | |
