Kivonat:Currently, the world faces full globalization of businesses and the move of assets is performed much easier and faster. It is well established that high net worth individuals need to find some ways to preserve and protect their wealth. Therefore, the overall purpose of the study and the research problem was to find out whether it is legal to protect the assets and what is the process of doing it for people with different residences and citizenship. I have supported the theoretical part there with two case studies about a Belgian ultra-rich family and a US businessman who wanted to protect their assets and did it in the best way. The major finding was that it is perfectly legal to do it and there are numerous mechanisms which facilitate asset protection structures in more layerings. Although another finding was that it is not ethical to be done as it may be perceived by society as unacceptable doings. In conclusion, it is clearly stated that asset protection has two sides, the legal and ethical part. It is perfectly legal if done in a professional manner, although it may be not accepted by society if it is done in an egoistic manner.
