| Abstract: | In my thesis I discuss the impact of the coronavirus on the production equipment financing until October 2020. As I was an intern at Merkantil Bank I chose this bank to be in the center of my attention. In my secondary research I collected all the important background information about the financing methods mainly the lease and its types and stakeholders, the legislative environment, other influencing factors and the market situation. I introduce the Merkantil Bank and I put emphasis on its production equipment business unit. I also discuss the moratorium in details and look at it from the point of view of both debtors and creditors. My primary sources are professionals working in this field. The interviews with them helped me to better understand the situation and guided me to be able to give an answer to my research question which is ‘To what extent did the coronavirus affected the volume of disbursements at the production equipment department of the Merkantil Bank so far?’. To a proper answer I examined the general economic situation of the country and then I narrowed down my focus to the leasing market and finally to the business unit in question. I used the volume of disbursements and number of equipment financed as the basis for comparison to see the changes from last year and month by month. In the end, relying on all the collected information, a possible way of recovery of the economy is outlined. |
