Although competition policy is applied against agreements between companies that restrict competition, abuse of dominant position, and mergers, competition policy rules may remain ineffective in the absence of global competition policy. With globalization, anti-competitive practices are also increasing. Global anti-competitive practices such as global cartels and global mergers arise under free trade conditions. Trade-related international competition problems are becoming more and more critical. It is challenging for developing countries to claim their rights in global cartels. In this context, developing countries are more vulnerable to anti-competitive practices. As a result, globalization of world trade requires establishing a global competitive order with effective policies.
