Abstract:Study tour, as a derivative of tourism, is the integration of tourism and education. Modern tourism mode is gradually becoming popular and diversified with prominent features. With the improvement of tourists' consciousness, the improvement of consumption level and the development of outbound tourism, the study tour market has great potential. Hence, this thesis is to figure out the content of study tours and analyze the development of study tour industry in China, and the relationship between study tour industry and tourism industry in Chinese market also need to be figure out. The qualitative and quantitative research both are used in this thesis in order to satisfy the objectives of this study. The case study method (qualitative) and questionnaire survey research method (quantitative) both are used. The combination of the two methods allows for a more professional and complete study. Besides, the literature review method was used. I collected historical and current material of the study tours development, which including books, journals, reports and online information. As a conclusion that the development of China's study tours industry can have a positive impact on China's tourism industries. The study tour business has both educational and tourism characteristics, which will not only drive the development of the relevant education industry, but also the development of the relevant tourism industry, achieving a win-win situation. Cross-border integration between schools, travel agents, training providers and study abroad agents begin to take place. A two- way interactive education model has emerged, with more emphasis on student engagement. The choice of destinations is also characterized by diversification.
