Description
Abstract:There is a growing demand for environmentally conscious products, and some supermarkets have recognised this trend and have introduced products that are labelled by the manufacturer as being produced in this way. A good example is that when Lidl sells some of its own-label products, it donates part of the revenue to the Rainforest Alliance, which aims to promote environmentally friendly and fair agriculture. The European Union and many countries in the world have placed greater emphasis on environmental protection and on ensuring that economic activities are based on environmental criteria (e.g. ISO 14001 standard).
