Kivonat:In the world, there are countries which are more, and which are less developed, however this development gap can be assessed in many ways and with different measures. The different evaluations of the “widening” gap aims to provide a base for comparison of different countries. The most common indicators that are offering an alternate method of ranking the different states regarding the levels of development are GDP, GNI per capita, HDI, GCI and HPI. In this research paper, firstly, the author aims to analyze and compare the rankings of the different development indicators of a chosen country which is Austria. Moreover, the top 3 countries of each development indicators are also compared to Austria. These two analyses are essential in order to discover the reason behind the changing rankings of the different development indicators of Austria. Several online databases and websites were selected as references where the statistical data could be found. Based on the collected data and analysis, recommendations were suggested on how the different rankings can be improved. This outcome provides a basis for Austria for further examination and also for other countries (e.g. Hungary) for analysis and comparison of the rankings.
