Kivonat: | In my thesis, I would like to show how tourism has developed in recent years, focusing on Eger City in Northeast Hungary. I have personal connection to Eger, since this is the town, where I was born and spend my first 18 years. In the first chapter, my goal is to clarify the definitions related to destination management, the structure of the Destination Management Organization (DMO) Eger and its fields of operation. I write more in detail about the activities in connection with marketing in the destination management system, and analyse it in the context of municipal development in Eger. In the second chapter of my dissertation, I will deal with Eger city marketing, and also explore the local government vision, its mission and image building of the city. I will argue that destination organization and local government essentially need to collaborate effectively, in order to present a strong city image and an innovative city marketing. |
