As a result economic sectors are undergoing a significant change and it becomes more and more common to internationalize businesses. Franchising is a world-wide known option for entering foreign markets. It has created many job opportunities and promoted business growth and development. It is also a helpful way for companies to adapt to different cultures and business ethics. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate a small- and medium-sized firm's internationalization process and to draw general conclusions for other Hungarian SMEs considering entering the foreign market. The important aspects influencing a company's internationalization process are also examined. The goal is to give a small or medium-sized company considering internationalization a foundation of key components of internationalization.
