| Abstract: | Money is possibly humanity’s most ancient technology. In my thesis I will explore what is money, it’s fundamental properties, and examine what properties make good money. I will also take a brief look at its history and take a look at some of the recent fundamental changes that have happened to it worldwide. Then I will take a look at cryptocurrencies, what is their definition and how do we use the word most often, demystify what the common buzzword blockchain really means, and take a look at the main types of cryptourrencies/blockhains that exist. I will also take a technical look at Bitcoin and show it’s main innovation in my opinion , decentralization of trust. |
