Kivonat:In an increasingly socially responsible society, awareness about what products we buy and what lies behind their production is an issue that has taken on great relevance and importance in recent years, however despite more egalitarian commercial systems and where exploitation remains outside have been developed, as it is in "Fairtrade", there are still doubts and questions about the true purpose under this premise. This research examines the ethics and morals under which first world countries implement this type of commercialization, as well as the perspective that consumers of this type of products have. In the same way, it seeks to identify if this system that presumes benefits really has them within those countries or communities involved. Questionnaires, a critical primary research method are disseminated within the population of the following three countries: Mexico, Hungary, and Germany to measure the level of public awareness towards Fairtrade initiatives. Literatures regarding Fairtrade, Sustainable Development and Ethical Consumption are gathered for a more coherent understanding of the background and findings. The research finds the rationale behind the decision-making of the consumers process when choosing Fairtrade products. Moreover, it detects the ethical and economical intentions behind the corporations that promote a voluntary and fair commercial relationship between producers and consumers.
