Significant restrictive measures and border closures have led to a drastic reduction in the revenue previously generated by tourism. The aim of the thesis was to find out how long it will take for the Uzbek hospitality sector to fully recover. The development of tourism not only improves economic performance, but the hospitality units themselves strive to gain the greatest possible competitive advantage. In terms of types of tourism of Uzbekistan, it can be divided into 5 categories.   Historical and cultural tourism provides the country's cultural attractions. Ecotourism offers a presentation of national parks, reserves, deserts, mountains, lakes and ancient cities. The country became independent in 1991, and from that date the country began to build on its own. Infrastructural development, renovation and later modernization of cultural and historical sites began. In recent years, more than 100,000 new jobs have been created, advancing the country's economy. Only 10% of Uzbekistan's hotel stock has total quality management (TQM) systems. The highest proportion, 55%, are unrated accommodations or national hotels that represent traditional Uzbek values. Most of them still have infrastructural and communication and IT shortcomings. Tourism data for 2021 were already more positive than data for 2020, but full recovery has not yet taken place. International tourism grew by 4%, but it was lower by72% compared to the year before the epidemic. The decline in tourism has caused both social and economic problems. The New Uzbekistan Development Strategy for 2022-2026 - which sets out the government's development ambitions for the next 5 years. The tourism sector is expected to triple in traffic, bringing the number of foreign visitors to 9 million and domestic tourists to 12 million. During the primary data collection, I used a questionnaire using a quantitative data collection method. I distributed the questionnaire on several tourism platforms in order to find out how well the country is known from more distant lands and continents. The majority of tourists are interested in historical and cultural tourism as well as ecological tourism. Nearly 80% of respondents would recommend the country to others as a travel destination. What is positive based on the experience is the high quality and service, adequate accommodation, infrastructural, transportation deficiencies.
