| Kivonat: | My research is about the consequences of the military withdrawal United States from Afghanistan. I went into details about the history of Afghanistan, ever since its independence. A bigger part discussed the Soviet invasion in Afghanistan, how the mujahidin rose up against the Soviet invaders, and how they managed to fight back. Then I described the period after the Soviets pulled out from Afghanistan (1989). There was a huge civil war in the country that broke out in 1992, which was followed by the Taliban takeover in 1996. Details in my study explain how the Taliban came to existence and how they managed to rise in the early 1990’s. The next part discusses the end of the Taliban rule which happened after the United States entered Afghanistan, and expelled the Taliban from power. The following chapter is about the US presence in Afghanistan, was they achieved. I finished my study with the answering of the research questions, and adding a conclusion with some personal views. |
