Description
Abstract:ABSTRACT OF THESIS Banking is known for its technological progress that is carefully managed and used in a multitude of areas. Organizational culture and innovation have become the primary concerns in terms of economic development, which creates an impetus for all businesses around the world. The research aims to investigate the existing organizational culture in the banks of Azerbaijan. The research also explores how open the banks are towards innovation adaptation with their organizational culture. The qualitative method was applied to the research and interviews and documents reviews were conducted as a part of the research. The results suggest that according to the interviewed managers and other bank employees, the dominating organizational culture in banks is hierarchical organizational culture and partly market culture, based on the division of the Cameron and Quinn’s organizational culture model. Findings show that with the existing organizational culture the banks are reluctant towards high-risk innovations, and also prioritize products innovation over process innovations targeting customer satisfaction rather than internal innovation development targeted at internal development.    Keywords: organizational culture, innovation, banks of Azerbaijan, hierarchical organizational culture, market culture, products innovations over process innovations, customer satisfaction
