Kivonat:It is without a doubt that we can say that tourism plays a huge role in our world. Almost everyone loves to travel, and everyone wants to see as many tourism destinations as they can. As a sector, tourism is crucial for many countries’ GDP; In 2019, contribution of travel and tourism to GDP (% of GDP) for Spain was 14.6 % (Knoema, 2019). In 2019, contribution of travel and tourism to GDP (% of GDP) for Croatia was 25.1 % (Knoema, 2019). In 2019, contribution of travel and tourism to GDP (% of GDP) for Hungary was 8.5 % (Knoema, 2019). According to United Nations World Tourism Organization in the year 2019 there were 1,5 billion tourist arrivals (UNWTO, 2019) Looking at these numbers we must stop and think about the environmental impact of tourism. 1,5 billion tourists’ arrivals are surely making a footprint in our planet’s ecosystem. One and a half billion arrivals must surely mean, just to list a few examples; more CO2 emissions, more waste products, more plastic products, noise pollution, environmental pollutions.
