520 3 |a Music surrounds us everywhere in our everyday life. People call it the greatest creation of humans. It has been a fundamental element of our lives since it enables us to express our inner feelings and emotions. Music allows us to de-stress ourselves and gives us an escape from daily life’s hassles and difficulties. It takes us into a whole other dimension of thoughts, by providing distractions to the mainstream of life. Music gives a soothing effect to the state of mind and helps people to calm themselves. It can act as a bridge between humans and their emotions. It connects humans to their inner selves by breaking the barrier of obstruction produced by his/her mind. Music, simply, gives people the power to think and act wisely. Music serves a bigger purpose in our lives than simply providing pleasure. In any environment, it can affect us in different ways. Shopping in a supermarket or a retail store is a good example of one of the environment. In retail stores, customers not only emphasize shopping instead they focus on many different things such as thinking about store interiors, aisles, product shelves, price tags, creative advertising, and their employees. All these parameters have one clear motto: persuade people to purchase. Supermarkets use background music to make their customers feel relaxed and comfortable. They use music to make customers’ shopping experience more enjoyable rather than tedious.
