| Abstract: | In Hungary, the tourism industry can be viewed as one of the key economic drivers, and in many rural areas, it serves as the only point of departure. However, in addition to its numerous undeniable benefits, its drawbacks must also be considered. Applying sustainable development principles during tourism development is crucial for the sector's long-term success. Using these principles in fragile rural areas such as the Őrség region is especially important. Within the Őrség, rural tourism is not a new phenomenon, thanks to which the region has undergone visible development in recent decades. Some of the research aims to discover the key to this overall development and how they can maintain it while preserving the region's unique characteristics. |
