| Kivonat: | The main topic of my thesis is the development of tourism in a small town - Dunaújváros, known to many as an industrial town or the \"First Socialist Town\". Is that really all it is about When I started my research I was told at the town hall \"only those who get lost come here\". With this handy-cap I started to look at the city as a stranger, as an \"outsider\", to take stock of the tourism potential of the city, which I felt was unfairly ignored. In my secondary research, I will present Dunaújváros and its many untapped potentials as a possible focus for tourism development. They will gain an insight into the distinctive image of an industrial town, defined by its architecture, born out of a political decision. A survey was conducted to the motivation of the citizens and motivation of the travellers impressions and development needs about Dunaújváros. The in-depth interview with Imre Szabo, the current chief architect of Dunaújváros provided an added value to understand the present and the future visions of the city planning including tourism commitments. |
