Kivonat: | Sustainability has an extremely high concern among humanity nowadays. People’s behaviour in the past decades had a very negative effect on the environment, causing problems like natural disasters, global warming, air- and water pollution, not speaking of the ethical issues that has occurred or not have been resolved. Discrimination, inequality, social issues are also great problems we, as part of the consumer society, have to deal with. Consumer society is encouraging us to purchase even if we do not need the goods. The fashion industry is not an exemption of this customer behaviour. It is an extremely over-productive and overconsuming business. (Firat,Kutucuoglu, Arikan Saltik and Tuncel, 2013)Fashion industry is considered one of the most polluting business sector. It produces over 10% of the global CO2 emissions, the second largest water consuming segment and it produces a lot of waste: only the 1% of the production is recycled properly, most of the products end up in landfills. (Piippo, Niinimäki and Aakko, 2022)The Hungarian fashion market is now living its renaissance. More and more brands get worldwide attention, for example Nanushka or Nubu, and plenty of them has a great success in Hungary and in Europe. It is a constantly developing area, but how do they cope with the global sustainability trends? We have very few information about this, therefore this research had been proposed the examine the Hungarian designer fashion market in terms of the sustainability trends. |
