Abstract:The paper discusses the measures of the European Union(EU) regarding cybersecurity and the need for international cooperation toaddress online challenges. The EU has launched several initiatives tostrengthen international cooperation regarding cyberspace and to deal with thelatest challenges. The paper presents the legislative measures, tools, methodsby which the EU and its Member States cooperate to strengthen the security ofcyberspace. The challenges related to cyberspace, both within and beyond theEU, are discussed in detail, and the measures that the EU has taken to improveonline security are presented. The thesis also examines the extent to which thecurrent approach has contributed to strengthening the security of cyberspacewith international partners like the United Nations (UN), North Atlantic TreatyOrganization (NATO), the United States (US), and US multinational companies. Thepaper suggests that effective cooperation and coordination among the EU and itsinternational partners regarding cybersecurity is crucial to protect EUcitizens and the integrity of digital infrastructure all around the world. Thepaper draws data from primary and secondary sources, including official legaldocuments of the EU, the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity, the UN, NATO,US authorities, scientific research, and reviews by professionals working inthis field. The thesis concludes that the limitations of this study onlyfocused on the main and most significant partners of the EU, and futureresearch could extend the investigation to other countries and organizations.
