| Kivonat: | ABSTRACTThisthesis explored the potential for Laosto adopt China digital currency as a role model. To answer this question, the study hasconducted the research and analyze all the importance elements in the digital currenciesincluding China’s E-CNY digital currency as well as analyzing Laos economywhich primary focused on their existing digital infrastructure, inflation,financial literacy and so on. This analysis then used to evaluate the potentialfor Laos adopting China’s digital currency as role model. The results showedthat Laos and China are relatively different in several aspect such as development competencies, digitalinfrastructure, human capacity. However, as two countries have strong politicand economic relationship and most digital infrastructure in Laos depends onChina there are potential for Laos to adopt E-CNY model to their digitalcurrency. Although more research is needed to identify the basic mechanism foreffectiveness approach. Findings suggest that Lao policymaker and regulatorsneed to carefully review the E-CNY model and learn from China digital currencysuccesses and implications along with the country’s capabilities to adopt thisnew technologies. |
