Description
Abstract:The thesis examines the evolution of public diplomacy in Ukraine and investigates the potential of digital diplomacy in the country. The study identifies the early-stage problems faced by digital diplomacy in Ukraine, including a lack of understanding of its potential, a lack of systemic approaches, and inadequate attention to personnel and organizational issues.Social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, are analyzed to gain insights into digital communication tools used in Ukraine for diplomacy. The findings can serve as a reference for future research on medium-sized countries. The main recommendation would be: enhancing the institutionalization of digital diplomacy practices at all levels of diplomatic relations and improving the presence of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the Internet. This can be achieved by developing a special program, launching educational programs and specialized courses, increasing the level of presence of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the Internet, duplicating accounts on Twitter and pages on social media in English, and encouraging public and non-governmental organizations to be more active in promoting Ukraine's foreign policy. The thesis emphasizes the importance of connecting with the younger audience to establish resilient relationships and showcasing the diverse Ukrainian culture to foreign audiences. The study concludes that public diplomacy offers effective tools to enhance competitiveness, counter disinformation campaigns, and project a positive image of a country abroad.
