Abstract:The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is a massiveinfrastructure and investment project proposed by China's president, XiJinping, in 2013. Its main goal is to promote economic growth and developmentin participating countries and boost China's trade with them. The initiativeincludes policy dialogue, trade facilitation, financial support, andpeople-to-people exchange. Central Asia is a crucial region in the BRI'simplementation, as it connects China to the West through land routes andprovides a great market for Chinese goods. Kazakhstan, with its politicalstability and rich natural resources, plays a key role in the initiative. Thethesis aims to examine the Chinese presence and its growing influence throughthe BRI in Kazakhstan. The paper will analyze the BRI's economic and politicalimpact in Kazakhstan, including its advantages and disadvantages, and itsfuture prospects. The structure of the paper includes an extensive explanationof the BRI, its role in Central Asia, the economic and political impact of theinitiative in Kazakhstan, and possible future scenarios and challenges.
