The aim of this study was to conduct a comprehensive review and analysis of the extant literature on potential determinants of economic growth in CIS countries. The study aimed to draw conclusions on the role of FDI in the economic growth of CIS countries.The present study utilized regression analysis to confirm the hypothesis that Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) has a positive impact on the economic growth of CIS countries. Furthermore, the discourse on the notion of economic convergence was deliberated to enhance comprehension of the economic expansion in CIS nations. The study has identified several factors that have been deemed statistically significant and have been found to have an impact on the GDP per capita of the sample of CIS countries. These factors include domestic investment, government spending, inflation, remittances, and population growth, besides FDI. Furthermore, the analysis of convergence demonstrated the absence of both absolute and conditional convergence within the sample of CIS countries spanning the period from 2000 to 2021. | |
