Abstract:The topic of hybridworkplace is very popular nowadays, mostly due to its relevance for thewhite-collar workforce and the recent pandemic, which made it relevant for amuch wider audience. Many people misunderstand the concept or see it as anevasion of work, but when implemented correctly, it makes life easier foremployers and employees as well. The present study investigates the hybridworkplace model through its most frequently experienced advantages anddisadvantages, such as increased productivity or less access to work resourcesand equipment. Based on the research findings, the study determines if theadvantages outweigh the disadvantages. After data collection, the mostimportant benefits and challenges are presented and assessed along with ideas, practicalimplications, and solutions for the major challenges as well as a proposal formanagers and supervisors about the wage determination method of hybrid workers.Themethod of research is mixed secondary research; analysis of both academic andinformal qualitative sources and recent statistics regarding remote and hybridwork in Europe and Hungary as well as a case study about hybrid work practices atGoogle and related workplace innovations. Google has always had a leading rolein innovation worldwide, so their ideas and solutions are a prime example ofhandling hybrid work in a way that enhances its benefits and mitigates most of itschallenges.
