Description
Abstract:This thesis investigates the implementation of digitalization in the global economy, specifically focusing on large corporations, and aims to address two research questions: 1) How does digitalization help big corporations increase overall productivity? 2) How can digitalization assist big corporations in optimizing their processes? Employing a comprehensive literature review and primary research through employee surveys, the study explores the correlation between digitalization efforts and overall productivity, the optimization of existing processes, and the strategies corporations utilize to digitalize their operations. While the literature review highlights the potential benefits of digitalization for businesses and individuals, it emphasizes the importance of proper implementation techniques to avoid adverse outcomes and maximize benefits. Primary research outcomes reveal that the quality of the digitalization process plays a significant role in realizing the benefits rather than just the extent of a company's digitalization. However, no significant relationship was found between digitalization and productivity or process optimization within companies, suggesting the need for further research. The study acknowledges limitations such as the limited number of respondents and lack of representativeness, which may impact the generalizability and applicability of the findings. Nonetheless, the research contributes to understanding digitalization's impact on big corporations and emphasizes the importance of effective implementation and the quality of the digitalization process. The findings also highlight the need for further research to address the research questions more comprehensively and explore the relationships between digitalization, productivity, efficiency, and the impact of software solutions within companies.
