Description
Abstract:The surge in the popularity of esports has positioned it as a mainstream form of entertainment, with profound implications for the industry's professionalization and economic viability. This transformation is attributed to factors such as a tech-savvy younger generation, widespread internet access, and a cultural inclination towards gaming. The evolution of esports from a recreational activity to a legitimate profession is evident in the rise of professional leagues and teams in Asia, attracting substantial sponsorships, endorsements, and an expanding fan base. Notably, both technology companies and traditional sports entities have recognized the marketing potential of esports, leading to increased sponsorship agreements, collaborations, and financial investments. This acknowledgement further accelerates the sector's growth and monetization within the region.
