Assessment and importance of central bank digital currency in Hungary

| Kivonat: | Under my thesis title "Assessment and importance of Central Bank Digital Currency in Hungary" I elaborate on the Central Bank Digital Currencies' (CBDC) history and general judgement from different stakeholders' perspective. Putting an emphasis on the viability, I gather the advantages, disadvantages on the matter. I highlight the hardship in lawmaking, social prejudices, cybersecurity but also the efficiency it will bring to public administration as well as everyday life and access to digital payments. Different stakeholders' perspectives are also considered, as not only the central bank and the consumers, governmental institutions and intermediaries also play a crucial part in the implementation. As for my research methods, I talk with leading experts in the field of CBDC. As a conclusion I gather the essence of the topic, and also provide my own opinion. |
