Kivonat:My research paper focuses on finding a correlation between a series of theories in connection with social movements, especially the ones that oppose technological advancements. The focal point of my interest lies in the connection between progress and masses disputing technological growth, moreover, the way they communicate their concerns. The leading question which awaits answering is whether we can progressively resist progress or are just moving in circles when it comes to protesting. In the first part of the paper, I will provide a literature review and introduce various theories regarding group behaviour, communal communication, social movement theory. I will look at historical instances and analyze them based on said theories, to wholly understand the notion behind these movements. Upon arriving in modern days, I will inspect social movements regarding Artificial Intelligence, which will conclude the research part of my paper. Methodically, my paper consists of secondary research paired with comprehensive content analysis from various fields, which will help me find a correlation between the observed topics, and ultimately paint a coherent and all-encompassing picture. With sufficient information, a conclusion will be drawn, which is designed to answer my research question and help us understand the source, forms and communication of these social movements, furthermore, whether we can see periodic repetition to a degree when it comes to social movements.
