520 | 3 | |a Over recent years, the concept of family-friendly hotels has gained increasing popularity among families with children aged 3-16. Guest needs and expectations have become more centered around family-oriented experiences, prompting adjustments in offered services to meet evolving market demand. These shifts have opened new opportunities for Hungarian hotels to attain family-friendly certifications, facilitating easier service improvement and segmentation. In my research I aim to analyze the services and amenities and the family-friendly certification system for Hungarian hotels. I would also like to examine the demand side with special focus on Hungarian families, the newest trends, people's need for the before-mentioned services and their actual decision-making process. I will also research the supply side from the view of the importance of marketing and operations in this field. I would like to explore the root causes of changes and impacts through the results achieved, and to make other suggestions for the development and success of the field I studied. In this way, the research contributes to boosting the use of family- friendly hotels within our country and the possibility of season extension and job creation in this area.My research is based on mixed-paradigm methods. To examine the topic from various perspectives, I conducted literature reviews, document-and website analysis. Additionally, I conducted interviews with tourism professionals and carried out a questionnaire among families visiting family-friendly hotels in Hungary. Furthermore, I compared the offerings of family-friendly accommodations in Hungary and Greece based on the observation I made during my work as an animator in Greece | |
