Description
Abstract:Due to today’s globalization and the growing interest in different cultures, habits, and lifestyles, managing diversities has become a crucial part of event management. Multi-cultural events provide such perfect platforms to celebrate diversity and embrace each other’s traditions. Since the success of the event is one of the major goals of the organizers, acknowledging the variances between foreign guests cannot be missed. Not taking these differences into account can lead to dissatisfaction of the visitor and the customer who entrusted us with the organization, a bad reputation of the business, and perhaps money loss. The primary objective of this thesis is to explain how event managers can deal with cultural and social differences in the case of event management and the planning process, as well as how they effect overall success of events. However, disagreements and miscommunications may quickly arise when individuals from various social, economic and cultural backgrounds join together. This can have an impact on both the overall atmosphere of the event and the feelings of the attendees. Since socializing and networking are made much easier by events, it is our responsibility as event planners to provide an environment where everyone feels appreciated and at home.
