Kivonat:As the tourism industry undergoes significant transformations with the help of technological advancements, understanding the perception and acceptance of smart tourism destinations (STDs) and technologies (STTs) among residents becomes essential. This thesis presents a complete examination of important factors related to resident acceptance in the context of Budapest, a city that is still in the intial stages of the adoption. With employing quantitative approach in a form of a questionnaire, this study explores the factors influencing resident acceptance, benefits and concerns which are associated with STTs. Additionally, the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) was utilized to deepen the understanding of resident’s attitudes towards these technologies. By offering evidence and practical recommendations, this research provides information that can help policymakers, city planners and tourism stakeholders to make ’smarter’ decisions when it comes to improving tourism strategies.
