Description
Abstract:The objective of this thesis is to focus on sustainability in various hotels. An understanding of the current state of sustainability in hotels and the identification of major trends and challenges within the industry are key. The focus will revolve around the different challenges that occur with the integration of sustainability. Additionally, the existing guidelines and suggestions aimed at supporting hoteliers on the topic of going green will be analyzed.Several factors shall be examined, like economic, operational, consumer perception, supply chain, and technological challenges. It is also important to note that while sustainability is far greater than the hotel industry just by itself, hotels are a very strong example to demonstrate the impact that it holds. Different sections might begin from a larger scope, like the environment of the planet, the overall awareness of humanity, and the politics surrounding the topic. This scope will constantly be reduced to the theme of hotels, drawing a parallel line between them and the outside world.
