The primary inquiry guiding this study is: How do the competent combination of visual aesthetics and narrative structures, strategically utilized by female filmmakers in the Middle East, stimulate the dynamic and subtle development of media portrayals and media representations, reviving the varied collection of cultural stories within the region? Utilizing media theory, the literature review explores the historical viewpoints and depiction of gender in Middle Eastern cinema delving into how it communicates with the society. Followed by a content analysis method, I carefully analyze the filmography of three prominent female filmmakers from the Middle East as case studies, investigating their thematic preferences and narrative approaches to the media. Moreover, conducting a comparative analysis with filmmakers from different regions enhances the comprehension of storytelling and communication strategies. This study explores the transformative impact of these filmmakers and the dynamic interaction between their creations and the media landscape. It analyzes their historical evolution, filmography, audience reception, and collaborative networks and communication. The findings provide valuable insights into the fields of media, communication, and gender studies, highlighting the substantial influence of female filmmakers in shaping narratives and questioning societal conventions in the Middle East. | |
