| Abstract: | This paper dives into the historical and economic context of the Arab Maghreb Union (AMU), highlighting the barriers to integration within the five member states. Political fragmentation, economic disparities, and security threats hinder all efforts to establish a genuine union. Institutional weaknesses and lack of transparency are obstacles to policy implementation. Solutions include tariff harmonization, trade facilitation, and infrastructure investment. However, strong political will and institutional reforms are crucial for progress. |
