Kivonat:This study is set to explore the dynamics of South Korea’s soft power and its profound impact on the country in terms of enhancing its influence and enforcing its presence in the international community. Presently, South Korea is one of the major global players, despite not being one of the superpowers. In the globally informative age, South Korea has recognized the essential of spreading influence through the country’s culture and values, rather than through military and economic influence. The study will begin with exploring the general concept of public diplomacy and soft power, along with the concept in the context of South Korea. It will delve into the history and evolution of South Korean public diplomacy efforts and the rise of South Korea’s soft power elements, mainly focusing on the country’s popular cultural products, as well as, its technological expertise. Furthermore, it will also discuss the economic benefits it has reaped and the challenges it has faced. Overall, the study offers a point of view on how South Korea has employed its soft power elements and how these elements have propelled South Korea to become one of the global cultural powerhouses, underscoring on the significance it has on shaping the positive global perception in the current interconnected world.
