Kivonat:This thesis explores the significant impact of Chinese outbound tourism on China’s economic growth, highlighting its evolution and effects on consumer spending and GDP growth. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, integrating quantitative analysis with historical and contextual insights. Data were collected from sources such as The World Bank and Statista, covering the period from 1995 to 2023. Descriptive statistics will reveal a positive correlation between the increase in outbound tourism and domestic consumer spending, underscoring the substantial contribution of this sector to China's economic landscape. Through a historical lens, my study lists the evolution of Chinese outbound tourism into the main phases from 1978 until nowadays, each characterized by various government policies that facilitate international travel. These stages reflect broader economic policies, cultural shifts, and increasing globalization of the Chinese economy. The findings suggest that outbound tourism not only supports China's position as a major global economic player but also stimulates domestic economic activity through enhanced consumer spending. My thesis contributes to the understanding of the economic dynamics of tourism and provides insights into the future trends of global and domestic economic impacts following China's international tourism activities.
