Kivonat:Abstract The thesis analyzes startup financing through a comparative lens, examining both the United States and Germany. Divided into eight sections, the paper establishes the research motivations and outlines the methodology employed. It acknowledges any limitations of the study upfront. Following this, a literature review dives into existing research on startup financing, exploring its historical context and ecosystem components. The core of the analysis lies in dedicated sections for each country. These sections dissect the unique financing landscapes of the US and Germany, including the available funding sources, their terms, and the support structures in place. To further illustrate these points, the paper incorporates case studies that compare specific startup scenes or industry hubs within each country. The latter sections synthesize the findings from the country-specific analyses to address the central research question. This is followed by a concluding section summarising the key takeaways and exploring their broader implications for startup financing practices, relevant policies, and the overall ecosystem for startups in both countries.
