Kivonat:This thesis explores the potential economic benefits of marijuana legalization in Hungary, focusing on its impact on tax revenue, employment, and societal attitudes. By analyzing both Hungarian and international perspectives, the study examines the influence of legal cannabis markets in countries like the Netherlands and Germany. The primary research utilizes qualitative methods, including focus groups with Generation Z participants, to evaluate attitudes and behaviors toward marijuana use. Findings suggest that Generation Z, heavily influenced by social media and peer groups, presents unique consumption habits that could shape legalization outcomes. The study highlights both the economic potential—such as tax revenue and job creation—and the societal challenges, including stigma and the risk of misuse. The results aim to inform future policymaking by offering insights into how legalization could address public health, reduce illegal markets, and align with evolving generational attitudes.
