Description
Abstract:This thesis examines the transition from greenwashing to sustainability among companies, emphasizing the importance of environmentally friendly practices. As the environmental crisis intensifies, the study highlights the role of businesses in promoting sustainable development through the environmental, economic and social pillars. The research combines a literature review and qualitative interviews with three companies: Dunapack, BKV and PizzaMe, to examine their sustainability aspirations, challenges and strategies.Dunapack exemplifies its continued commitment to circular economy and ESG compliance, demonstrating the structured development of its sustainability practice despite the challenges of CO2 reduction. As a public transport provider, BKV integrates sustainable innovations such as energy efficiency and social responsibility, although it is limited by state support. PizzaMe, a smaller food chain, is making pragmatic sustainable energy efficiency impacts, sourcing locally, but with limited impact compared to larger companies. The findings highlight the spectrum of corporate sustainability practices, from comprehensive strategies to incremental changes. The study concludes by offering actionable recommendations for companies to prioritize sustainability over greenwashing for long-term environmental, social and economic benefits.
