Digitalisation is changing the financial landscape, creating many opportunities and complex challenges for individual investors, institutions, and policymakers. This paper explores the impact of digital advances on wealth planning and management, particularly how individuals, institutions, and policymakers use them to manage wealth and respond to market changes. Digital tools such as algorithmic trading and artificial intelligence-driven advisory systems enable institutions to operate faster and more precisely. Individual investors can expand and increase their wealth due to the open markets brought about by digitalisation. However, digitalisation also brings risks, such as the spread of herd behaviour and many similar investment strategies among individuals and institutions, which may lead to market bubbles and volatility. In addition, the increased transparency through digital platforms will bring internal pressures to institutions; employees inside the institution can have a deeper understanding of compensation structures and career development trajectories due to the disappearance of information barriers and the ease of information dissemination, which may exacerbate dissatisfaction and affect institutional stability. Regulatory challenges further exacerbate the complexity of financial digital transformation. Emerging markets like cryptocurrencies and AI advisory platforms lack adequate regulation, leaving investors vulnerable to fraud and mismanagement. The FTX incident illustrates the risks of inadequate regulation within digital finance platforms, while recent legislative responses in the UK and EU highlight efforts to protect investors in decentralised finance environments. This article shows the need for proactive policies that manage the risks associated with digital finance while allowing for innovation. Ultimately, a balanced approach is important: institutions must address external market dynamics and internal workforce challenges while regulators work to make sure that digital finance develops within a stable, protected framework. By adopting new strategies for digitalisation and responsible regulatory approaches, individuals and institutions from the financial industry can enjoy the optimal benefits of digitalisation while guarding against its risks.This article uses a qualitative literature review method to analyse the impact of digitisation on financial institutions, individual investors and regulatory policies.
