| 520 | 3 | |a This thesis investigates the profitability and strategic value of international expansion for Hungarian financial institutions, with the help of a case study on OTP Bank’s internationalisation. Through regional analyses of 16 different European countries, using key banking indicators from Q4 2024 such as GDP growth rate, ROE, CA, and NPL ratios, the most optimal target countries for internationalisation were successfully identified. Separate recommendations were made for OTP Bank and other domestic banks as well. The study concluded that the best regions for expansion are Central and Eastern Europe, particularly Poland and Serbia. | |
